Disturbances in the Cloud

When Oracle purchased NetSuite last month it surprised the industry. And, the surprises keep on coming. Salesforce’s recent acquisition of Quip, the word processing app for $750 million is the latest scramble in the Cloud. Microsoft and Salesforce have had an on again, off again relationship for a while now; each trying to get the upper hand in the cloud-based software space. The Salesforce acquisition has many saying this was a direct jab at Microsoft. Quip is a cloud-based software that allows users to create and collaborate on documents seamlessly in the cloud. It doesn’t appear this scramble for cloud supremacy will be over any time soon. You can read more about this on-going dance here.

And while you’re there you won’t want to miss the ArcherPoint Partner Showcase where Greg Kaupp will be presenting Microsoft Azure & NAV 2016: Why You May Never Buy Another NAV Server Ever Again!” He will explore why NAV 2016 and Azure were made for each other.

Before you pack your bags, be sure to nominate your Chapter Leader to receive the 2016 NAVUG Leader of the Year Award.

If your Chapter Leader goes above and beyond for your Chapter meetings, please take the time to recognize their hard work. The nomination period ends September 2, and the recipient of this award will be announced at Summit 2016 in Tampa, FL. Click here to nominate your chapter leader.

In the “Count Me In” Summit spirit, NAVUG is introducing a new competition: Count on Your Chapter. This friendly competition is fairly simple: The NAVUG Chapter that brings the most Chapter members to Summit 2016 wins the grand prize, and every chapter has a chance to earn smaller prizes along the way!  Please click on the link above for specific prize information.

Production lead time requires that you must register for NAVUG Summit 2016 by Friday, September 10th, 2016 to be counted as part of this competition. Make sure you are a part of your Chapter’s virtual community for tracking purposes and important updates.

We look forward to seeing you in October - be sure to come to Booth 406 where you will be able to relax and get your NAV questions answered!
