NAVUG Forum Recap
The NAV Users Group (NAVUG) www.navug.com achieved a significant milestone this year in breaking the 1,000 member mark. In addition, attendance at the annual NAVUG Forum Conference, which was recently held in Seattle, grew by almost 30% with 350 registered attendees this year. NAVUG continues to be an excellent source of training for end users with online training, webinars, and special interest groups. In addition, NAVUG members continue to find the connections they make with other NAVUG members invaluable as they explore ways to improve their processes and leverage their investment in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. For new members to NAVUG one of the things that we hear most often is that they did not know the NAV Users Group even existed and they wished they had joined sooner. Given the success of NAVUG in North America, the organization is expanding internationally with its first international conference scheduled for January 2013 in Rome.
This year everyone was particularly interested in learning about Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and familiarizing themselves with this fantastic release. For those who were not able to make it to NAVUG Forum in Seattle you’ll have another chance to learn about Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 at the annual Microsoft Convergence conference focused on its Dynamics products to be held in New Orleans, March 18-21. Microsoft continues to work closely with NAVUG to deliver content that is meaningful to end users at Convergence so there is even more reasons to get involved in NAVUG and influence the content you would like to see at Convergence.
One of the things that continue to surprise people most about NAVUG is the willingness of end users, partners, and ISVs to share openly with each other and help each other. The entire NAVUG membership has tried diligently to create a safe place to share, network, and get new ideas. That is why all of the end users, partners, and ISVs are very careful to police any unwanted or predatory solicitation. With the energy and excitement around the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 release, I think we can grow NAVUG by another 30% or more in this coming year.
