|Microsoft Announces Dynamics 365
Microsoft announced some very exciting news this month: Microsoft Dynamics 365, slated for release in the fall, pulls current ERP and CRM cloud solutions as well as Office 365, PowerBI, and Cortana into one common cloud platform to manage Financials, Field Service, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Project Service Automation, and Customer Service.
In addition, Microsoft AppSource—the app store for Dynamics 365—will make apps easy to deploy independently, giving organizations the flexibility to pay only for what they need and easily build on to meet demands of growth.
Dynamics 365 combines the power of Microsoft across productivity, advanced analytics, Power BI and IoT, with Azure, a new application platform, and a common data model. With this exciting new release, a comprehensive office productivity suite available is from anywhere within Office 365. Now, for example, you can create a sales quote from within Outlook.
Customers will have a choice of two purchasing models: the traditional approach, where they can license Dynamics 365 by application, or they can license users by “role,” enabling customers to support modern, more agile and diverse employee roles that can access functionality across all applications within Dynamics 365.
Microsoft Dynamics ERP, CRM and other applications will still be available for on-premises customers; however, Microsoft is planning to make available a “hybrid” offering in the near future.
