Dynamics 365 2020 Release Wave 2 Plan Available
The Dynamics 365 release plan for the 2020 release wave 2 is out, describing the hundreds of new features across all the Dynamics products that will be released from October 2020 through March 2021. A Final Word on BC wave 2: What’s New in AL
In his blog this week, Erik Hougaard presents a video on What’s New with AL for [BC] Version 17(a.k.a., wave 2) – Hacker Edition. After quickly reviewing changes to Modern Development Tools, Erik takes a deeper, “hacker” dive, looking under the hood and revealing new features like a way to ignore all commit calls until a scope has ended and more. Recommended Non-Dynamics Sessions to Attend at Ignite
In his Dynamics 365 blog, Aleksandar Totovic breaks with tradition by recommending non-Dynamics sessions—15 of them, to be exact—you should attend at this year’s Ignite (September 22-24, 2020). His reason: “…if you want to survive in your ERP or CRM world, you need to learn a lot of different topics outside of your primarily interest.” Recommended sessions include Automating Your Desktop with Power Automate, Enhancing BIO Solutions with AI, and Explore Intelligent Edge, Vision, Edge AI and IoT Benefits Across Industries. Tip: Omit Dependencies on the BC System and Base App
In his blog, Think About IT, Steven Renders offers a Quick Tip: Omit the dependencies on the system app and base app in BC “since BC introduced the Application App”. In previous versions of BC, base and system application extensions were stated explicitly under dependencies in the app.json file of that extension. Now, you’re required to use the application version property within the app.json file.
