Why ArcherPoint Takes a Customer-Centric Approach to Training
Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) training at ArcherPoint is done differently than you might expect from a software reseller, consultant, or training facility. We do not offer the traditional “university style” training that is more commonly found in our industry. While this approach to training has its advantages and its place, what we have chosen to do at ArcherPoint is cater our training directly to the needs of our customers. We understand that everyone has their own way of doing things and their own pace of learning. The type of training we offer is meant to allow our customers to take advantage of their Dynamics NAV system and use it the way that is best for them. One very important note for people looking into NAV training but who are not ArcherPoint Partners themselves is to first check with your current Partner and see what training they provide.
At ArcherPoint, we follow a simple process for training based around our customer’s requirements. The first step is for you to contact one of our Account Managers. It is at this point that we discuss with you your specific training requirements. Common topics for training that we encounter are new people coming on board who need to learn the basics of using NAV, or training for the current NAV users on new functionality; however, we can tackle any NAV training need. After this discussion is completed, a follow up meeting is arranged with one of our Consultants who specializes in the desired area of training. During this meeting, you and the Consultant go into further detail so he or she can create an estimate of how many hours of training will likely be required. It is during this part of the process that we decide whether or not the ArcherPoint trainer will come to your location to provide the training or if training will be conducted over the internet with various tools like GoToMeeting (this decision is always up to you). From that point on, the ArcherPoint Consultant works directly with you to create sessions that will cover the topics requested and field any questions asked along the way.
The reason we structure training in this fashion is that it allows us to spend less time going over information that you may already know or don’t need to know so we can get right to the goal—training you on what you need to know. By taking a customer-specific approach to training, we are targeting the areas where you are most affected. This approach also saves you time and money by eliminating the common issue of covering topics that aren’t important to you.
